I felt like crying that day (And cried as well) ... I was doing my office work and received the Holy Mail (Or Unholy) from Indian school of Business (ISB) that they regret to inform me that I am not in the list of candidates being interviewed ... Alas it was a real shocker , shaker , a quake and what not .....
Having good GMAT (710) , 4.5 Work ex , 1+ yr international exp, Excellent Acads, Decent Extracurricular Activities, Excellent Recommendations and well written essay (Did research for 2+ months ) .. I was expecting an interview call at least .... At that time I thought Only GOD or ISB Adcom knows Why they rejected me .....
After few days of mourning I am back in action now ... Now I know how Ignorant I was ... Well here are my learning Points. These points includes feedback from fellow aspirants.... Who did the postmortem of my essays. Thanks Again fellow puys for being kind enough ....
Points
- Apply in Round 1 unless your are Super Bond
- GMAT score does count and counts well (Try to score above 740)
- make sure your essays are interesting ( I guess my Zumba essay was too technical)
- Community Work helps both i.e. the needy and you.
- Don't talk too much about your school / college achievements. Until and unless it is worth mentioning.
- Analyze your self a LOT, Now I know it is the most difficult part of an MBA Application. You might be having many qualities (Hidden) that people around you can recognize immediately but you cannot. So do take feedback from your friends and family.
- Do not put all your eggs in one basket.
Well friends that's it for now ... Hope We will cross ways at ISB sometime Soon .
Do post your comments. Cheers !!!
